I haven't heard about any problems but attempting to sell a knife using your pictures of one of "your" builds seems a little sketchy to me. Especially if you have never parted with one of yours.

Hopefully it was just a mistake.
It's not one of my builds, just my pictures of a knife I still own.

I'm not pissed about it, and I'm not trying to cause problems for the guy, I just don't like someone using my pics to sell a knife. Someone might see those pics, recognize them as mine (like I immediately did), and think that it's me under a different name selling it. I don't want to be associated in any way with someone else's attempt to sell something, because any issues related to that sale, or sales ad, might come back on me in some way, even if it's just harm to my reputation. I don't want to be confused for someone else. That's why I brought it up.

Again, I'm not looking to cause trouble for the guy, I just don't want anyone using my pics in a sale ad and misrepresenting the knife in those pics as one that they are selling. And yesterday he changed them.

I just received one of these. Pretty decent. I have a problem flipping the lever up to open the knife. My thumb slips over the lever. I have to use my other hand to open the lever so that I then can push the lever forward with my thumb, firing the knife. Kind of silly silly to have to use both hands to open a switchblade, but there is little chance of it opening in my pocket. Anyway, I am happy with the knife.

My apologies, Killgar. I set out to acquire one of these that you have but I strayed and ended up with a Mikov in horn and then, while trying to stay true to my intent, I went ahead and bought one of these puppies off of MSB:

Similar ones can be found on DHGate or some places like that but not in ebony and brushed aluminum. I'm not sure if he ordered a batch of the all black aluminum ebony models and a batch of the maple and brushed aluminum and swapped scales, or if these just can't be found on those sites anymore but I looked everywhere I could think in an attempt to score one a bit cheaper but just couldn't find that combination. I just couldn't pass it up though. It's solid as a rock though and fun...and 13 freakin' inches!

Now, with that detour done, I'll now seek one of these Mikov clones to play with too! :D You can never have too many!!!

Peace.

No problem, all cheap switchblades are welcome here :) .

That's an interesting OTF. I wasn't aware they made them in 13". Perhaps it's a new version.

It was the first one I've seen in a 13 inch format, of course it could be the same blade as used is in the Chinese and MAGO 11 inchers and just more body length. I have one of those around here and need to dig it out for a true comparison of the two. I like that it's got some serious heft to it thanks to the extra aluminum too. A fun conversation piece, indeed.

Peace.

DhGate is the wholesale/drop-shipping website that also sells single pieces. That site offers an outrageous assortment of knives. That's where all the clones you see out there come from. They have name brands because the name them the same as the ones they counterfeit. So you will see a Mikov (like the one in the pics here) or Benchmade, ProTech, Microtech, etc.. Even has counterfeit packaging. I can tell you most knives for sale on a site out there called...(it sounds like FunBroker)
are from DHGate. Knives that you see everyday for $19 are then sold again for $50+ and so on. And hey, the reseller takes all the risk and buying from the reseller means you wait a week instead of waiting up to 5 or 6 weeks in some cases.

True Himmler, I've seen a fair number of those counterfeits on GB. I actually bought one of those Microtech counterfeits last year via DHG just because it had the box, paperwork, and even the disassembly bit included. I was impressed with how industrious the Chinese were in their efforts. Of course the actual knife is nowhere near the quality of the real thing but at 10 feet it's hard to tell.

I'm still not sure yet what I'll do with it, but one idea was on a future fishing trip, to make a big deal about it, unveiling my brand new "Microtech" to my brother-in-law, or other similar victim, and then fumble it and drop it into the river! ;)

Peace.

I've seen these knives around etsy and ebay a lot. I heard that they are good for the money. I don't think these do hold a edge very well, but at least they are soft steel so its easy to sharpen up
