Hi Folks:
My first 1950s (date-range?) picklock. The scales are coming away at the handles and the blade has some slight ud ss movement. But the scales aren't loose and it has great action with a nice snap when fired. After sharing some photos with Jeremy, he provided this additional feedback:
"...it seems like the kickspring has more rust/patina/whatever than the blade, which makes me think someone has probably done some sanding of the blade. Also, if you look right at the bottom of the grind (right above the sear hole) you can see a darker spot on each side. That is a common spot to miss with sanding. Everything else seems original and I definitely don't think it has been taken apart."
She's had some wear and tear but I'll give her a good home.

Most Excellent.

That has to be about the best horn that I have ever seen!

I agree with Jack...... if that horn isn't the best I've seen, it's right up there at the top. It's so pure, I actually thought I was looking at synthetic (replacement) scales at first. Just absolutely gorgeous. And it's nice that it has a Red Dot safety, too.
The blade seems to have wire-brush marks across it; and the pitting is sufficiently deep so that I would expect a lot more corrosion to be evident on the surface. But in all, it's a great piece and I think it would be well worth having Bill (or someone similarly skilled) clean up the blade channel and tighten the scales. Congratulations -- it's a super knife.
