You've probably seen these types of knives on various websites..
Made in China, typically from a zinc alloy. Cheap and heavy, usually covered in a black, rubbery, "tactical" coating.
The finish on this one was wearing off, so I stripped it using acetone and paper towels.
Then sanded it with 800 grit sandpaper, and finished with a green Scotchbrite pad.
There's actually an interesting-looking knife under all of that black rubber.
