PIC Japan Manual “Toggle Switch Lock” Stiletto
I don’t think I’ve ever seen another one like this. It’s a manual swinguard stiletto from Japan and to unlock it you push this front “toggle switch” to the left which pushes the backspring up allowing you to close the knife. What does PIC stand for? Is the “P” by any chance Parker as in Parker Cutlery? I know they were a Japanese company. I don’t think I paid very much for this. It was less than $15 if I remember correctly. Has anybody else seen one like this?

I pulled this off google search from another knife forum....Don't know for sure if it is correct. I have seen a few of those toggle knives in pictures. I think JerryK from sharperdeals has a couple...
PIC was a NY based knife company that imported knives from both Germany and Japan.
Most of their knives were of decent to good quality, especially when viewed from their price points.
The company got out of the knife import business in either the late 80s or early 90s.
The company is still around, I think, but doing other things now.
PIC was short for Precise Instrument Company

That lock release is pretty interesting. It is the same idea as one of those old Zipper autos, just this one only releases the blade. I thought about converting one of these. It should be simple, just install a kickspring and give the front of the blade a notch so the lock holds it shut. My only concern was that the sliding piece might be hard to push to fire it as you would have to hold it really awkwardly.
