New "BARON"
Arrived today. The new Baron from A.G.A. Campolin. An Italian remake of a 1960's French knife (that I do not have to compare). It's a nice, 8" BO/BC.

Nice, so you are happy with it ? I have been procrastinating ever since I came across the announcement.
Re: New "BARON"
Just arrived today, but yes. It feels nice and sturdy. Came surprisingly sharp as well.

Nice knife and great horn. Is there a safety on it?
Re: New "BARON"
Good question Thom! No safety.

Re: New "BARON"
It seems like all the originals I have seen had stag scales. Other than that it looks pretty similar.

Thanks for that link Jeremy. Interesting..."The button slides back to catch the scale and works as a safety"...Hmmm. I've messed with mine just a bit, but I'm not seeing that on this piece. I've tried sliding it back, but it just eventually fires. I'd like to see that action as maybe I'm doing it wrong(?).

Re: New "BARON"
I didn't notice that safety stuff on the original. I don't think your's has that. I also noticed that original on Mike's site is a multi-blade.JulesVane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 2:46 am ."The button slides back to catch the scale and works as a safety"...Hmmm. Re: New "BARON"
One other thing: Can you tell how the rocker is connected to the liner? Does it have anything like D-stamps on it?
Re: New "BARON"
Sorry for the delay. No, no safety and no D cutouts. Here's a couple pics...JimBrown257 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:45 am One other thing: Can you tell how the rocker is connected to the liner? Does it have anything like D-stamps on it?
