Older 13" AGA Campolin Picklock

Post by texans123 »

Hi Folks -

Here is an older 13" AGA Campolin picklock with some nice light colored horn scales. I've had this one a long time, bought it around 2003-04. Nice thick heavy knife, D stamped liner, nickel silver bolsters, and great blade with smooth snap and tight lockup. Forum has been rather quiet lately so thought I'd post this older Campolin.

Cheers -
Jeff

Wow that’s a gem alright. I really like how the scale has that white color with different shades mixed in. Also I love that beautiful mirror finish on the blade!

Both really nice, love the horn on both. How do you make them so shiny?

Well it's a bright sunny day here in Texas, so could be some reflection from outdoor pics. I shined up the metal on both with Never-Dull wadding polish. These both have nice mirrored blades and polish up well.

Excellent looking pieces. :D

Looks like you didn't get stuck with banana blades which were all too common in these knives. How is their snappiness?

Thanks. Yes I read an older thread that mentioned some of these had problems with banana blading. These both fire well every time, no problems. They have really good snap especially for a big knife.
