Renzo Pascotto Collection
Though I have shifted my collecting towards the vintage, this more modern master deserves his attention. Got 'em out for a cleaning and group shot.
Arrived 5/4/19, too late for the group shot. 10" (25cm)/ 5mm picklock in really nice stag. Notice on this one has the anvil/starburst not colored in black like the others? Interesting...
...thanks to great friends and good luck to acquire this bit of Renzo Pascotto.
2 New Renzo Pascotto pieces added to my collection on 1/2/21
A beautiful 13" Wasp Body Flatguard:
And a gorgeous 13" Button Open/Button Close:

Wow, that's quite an impressive group, thanks for sharing
Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
Damn, you have a beautiful collection, Chris. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite out of a lineup like that.
BTW, what does a cleaning entail?

Thanks Rick! Just a bit 'o spit and a cloth lol. (just a wipe down with Flitz and oil from Latama). Like we've recently discussed Rick, 13" Batwings, Flatguards, 10" picklocks and Frosolones. All about that Renzo Pascotto stamp.

Really nice group JV. Love to have one of the Deltas.

Thanks Thom, I knew you of all would appreciate this collection. The problem of having #1 and #5 of only 5 of something is an endless search for #2, #3 and #4.

Part of the mystery is solved, Chris. Now you don't have to lose any sleep over this one. Only two more to account for.....

Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
Great collection !!!! Very nice!!!!!!!!!!! Did you make it to the Mystic show? Eric said you were going?
Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
Beautiful Mr. natcherly! I had thoughts that the other 3 could be anywhere in the world and I'm glad one is safe in your care!
No Tom, had every intention of attending Mystic, but that weekend turned out to be a very busy one for us here at home.

Yes, all the Deltas had different scales. Don't know who has the others, but as there were produced and sold in 2012/13, they could be anywhere at this point. I selected mine from a set of pictures of the then available knives provided by Lucio DiBon. Some may have gone to European collectors.
Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
Love the dark horn. How did you find out DiBon was selling knives? I want on that list.

Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
Lucio is in the knife business. He provides scale materials to the various makers. Renzo Pascotto did not sell retail, so apparently Lucio and he had an agreement for Lucio to handle that end of things. The customers were both here and overseas. Renzo is nearing or in retirement as I understand it. Haven't heard of any new items recently. He used to do a lot of work for AGA Campolin, building not only prototypes but also entire runs of completed knives or parts that were then assembled by the Campolines. I have knives marked AGA Campolin that are indistinguishable from those marked Pascotto Renzo. They were probably made by Renzo whose agreement with AGA allowed him to select pieces from a run and mark them with his stamp. His work is the best.
