Your view is the only one that matters, it's your knife and if you're not concerned about it then it's all good.

I will admit, getting the peek fixed - especially after a nearly unanimous recommendation from the collective of this thread to do so - is very tempting to me.

that is the embodiment of a switchblade knife.. my two cents would be to have it fixed.
Re: 8'' LATAMA / Patent 35958 Kris Picklock
VERY NICE find, Luke!!! BTW, your picture clearly shows the peeking.
I will push your buttons--please pass me your switchblades first.

It's on all Latama Kriss blades. I believe it was part of the same document in which they patented the square button, though I could be wrong...

This Patent number 35958 was on a few italian knives .
Here is a Patent ringpull with the same number aswell .so its nothing to do with blade types, or release types . Yours is a swedge.fulcrum ...Lukes a kriss blade Picklock and this ringpull is a bayo example.
I hope someone knows the significance of it for you but sometimes things cant be explained unless someone comes up with old documents etc.

It's my understanding the patent was for the kris blade.
However, the patent number was stamped on many non-kris blades.

If it is a patent number, there is a legal document....somewhere.

Re: 8'' LATAMA / Patent 35958 Kris Picklock
Strange Bill and Jim.
I wonder if the 35958 meant any new significant change to the italian picklock design that was put forward or applied for by the designers to the PAT. office......ie square button, fulcrum, ringpull releases ,Kriss blade etc.
I have nothing to go by ,it's just a thought into why the same number appears on a dibin and a Latama ,plus the ringpull picture I posted.
Interesting.
Hope your both well.
