Burn Knives my 1st

Post by JayAK80 »

I recently acquired my first Burn custom. This is an Italian style OTF. It has a brass chassis and giraffe bone scales. Thanks for viewing.

The build quality is amazing. The knife is well made and has some real heft to it. The blade deploys with speed and vigor. It truly is a work of art.

I recently picked up the same model in upcycled linen Micarta. The brass is developing a very nice uniform patina from handling. Makes the modern CNC milled knife look like an antique. Paul makes a real beast of an OTF.

I use Flickr for image hosting. It's free and easy to navigate. Looking forward to your pics!

Well apparently it won’t let me post from my phone. I don’t ever use a laptop anymore, so it looks like it cannot be done. I’ve tried everything I can think of from Flickr and it won’t seem to work.

Sorry

Jay, you can upload your pics directly to the forum. I'm not sure why you thought you had violated any rules.

Oh ok cool!

I read the forum description and it said something about pics being from outside sources...

I’ll gladly use the forum though as it’s much much easier!

Thanks !

Congrats, Jay. She's a real beauty.

Keep an eye on the tiny T5 screws on each side of the chassis. I'm pretty sure that they secure the pivot pins for the locking latches and mine tend to loosen up a bit over time. My knife is from the same run as yours and I don't think Paul used threadlock on them (perhaps intentionally?).

I had same problem with screws coming loose. If I over tighten mine the knife would not work. I put Loctite on screws and been fine since.
