Walt's 11"

Post by texans123 »

Hi Gents -
A nice 11" bolster release with Brazilian horn. A thick, heavy knife and the hardest firing Walt's I have. Has a great blade and smooth, tight lockup.
Cheers -

Really super horn, especially the front. I've been seeing so many Walt's Classics posted lately that are lacking the tiny "W" under Walt's Cat logo's front left paw. Can the Cat and the "W" be 2 separate stamps and the "W" just forgotten on so many? Interesting.

Good eye JV, and interesting difference. :) I looked at a couple Walt's 9" and the 'w' is there.

Nice looking knife. Walt offers a first rate product.
A while back I asked him about the W and he told me that on his earlier offerings whoever produced them for him forgot the W.

Agree, a very nice, thick and sturdy knife. And thanks for the info on the missing 'W'. This was the 1st Walt's I bought and was an early knife as you mention here, so all makes sense.

I have a 2013 model without the W, would that be considered an early model?

That's a beauty. Any idea what year it was made? I have a Ram's horn with same stampings. Are they the first of Walt's?

Thanks Thom. Do not recall the exact year but I bought this 11", but I did buy it before I bought some Walt's 9", and the 9" are dated 2010 and 2012.

Sorry to go off track here, but has anyone heard from Walt regarding the new 9"ers that were projected to be available this past April/May?
