13" Stag Transitional

Post by texans123 »

Hi Gents -
Here's one for those that like the big Italians. Picked this one up some years back, another Ebay find. Big thick knife with nice scales and clean blade. I'm guessing this is an early 1960's era knife. Strong snap and locks up tight. Not many miles on this knife.
Cheers -

Very nice and that was when the quality was comparable to the 1950s knives.

Thanks for the response. Agree, it's a big, thick and heavy knife like the older ones. When I picked up the package at the Post Office and the box was relatively heavy I knew it was a good one :D

Absolutely perfect!

These along with the old picklocks and bobc are my favourite knives .

I only have 1 Rostfrei Import and its great quality and you can see the attention to detail with scale fitting and general build quality on these knives throughout .

.I just know how that 13 would feel just great in hand with that fine quality stag.

Thanks for sharing yet another fine knife ....i still find knives on ebay but nothing like the condition and rarity of your last 3 posts .

Great finds ... and if you ever sell any i would love that stag transitional or either of the other 2 posted by you recently in my collection.

Hope your well

Ian

Very nice! Much better craftsmanship in details. No comparison to the modern stilettos.

good score man these stilettos stamped ( Rostfrei Import) are mostly of real good quality ive owned several over the years and still have a few in different sizes all are great quality funny everyone ive seen stamped (rostfrei import) had the red dot safety ,ive seen them in 7",9",11" and 13". ive got a 7" in pieces with the Rostfrei import stamp and it also has red dot safety also most ive seen had the beautiful indian sambar stag as yours does , these knives were made in late 1960's (when they changed the button mechanism) to sometime in 1970's and all ones i seen had the standard grind blade even the lil 7" i have has standard blade sambar stag red dot safety .
