8" Picklock - Nice Horn

Post by texans123 »

Hi Gents -
Another Ebay find from way back. 8" Made in Italy with really nice green and cream horn scales. Slight blade play in the open position, but fires really hard, no blade peek and locks up tight. Any idea the maker that used the 'Made in Italy' stamp?

I believe the Made in Italy blade stamp was used by Mauro Mario .

Thats another lovely little picklock .
The horn is really excellent and has been well chosen to suit this knife.

Thanks for sharing it and keep them coming.

All the best

I'm fond of the picklocks because they seem to "hold together" better than the "swivel-bolster" variety. I grew up with the style.

I like both styles but the picklocks are special. Lucky you growing up with picklocks. Being located in the southern US, I grew up with the Rizzuto Estileto Milano autos. Had small, medium and large sizes and everyone of them broke as did most of these knives. Then the internet came along and we could buy real Italians...man what a difference.

Another great American auto is the Buck 110 Auto Elite. A lock back with G10 scales and stainless steel bolsters that will outlive you. It will work in in the field and wherever else you take it. Spend the money to buy one and you'll be happy for as long as you live.

Good info - thanks. I have the Buck 112 Automatic Conversion Knife from myswitchblade.com, great knife that is now legal to carry in my state. :D

Aren't they nice? The 112 Auto has yet to be made by Buck. In case you're interested, the Buck 898 "Impact" is slender, far lighter, more concealable, and has a 3.125" (3 1/8") drop-point blade of S30V steel that is an outstanding carry knife.

I hope that you find this helpful.
