I have no idea who might have made it.
I must admit that some custom knives can be very gratifying. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Form follows function. Believe it or not, when I was in High School I had a thing for the International Transtar Cab Over tractor. (Drive into a High School parking lot with that, and watch the heads turn)! :P

When at long last I have "Boats" it will be worth the wait. The few knives that I have that could possibly beat it would be my "early model" Benchmade AFO, SOG Spec Elite 2 Auto, Buck 110 Auto, or Buck 898 Impact. Anything more useful would have to be a sheath knife.

BTW, my Stag-scaled Queen #1L swing guard auto conversion is kind of special. Its drop-point D2 steel blade works well.

Careful now, it seems like you almost slipped and gave me a compliment. :(

Dave:

Would you please post the final model of "Boats" for the forum? I would like for the Forum to understand the concept behind the knife. Why, and how it is being created may help people comprehend the reasoning for its creation.

Thanks.

Per Fishtail Picklock's request:

This is actually a slightly updated version with a flush fire button (shown in the "fire" position.) Here's the open view:

This is the open view with internals.

Here's the closed view, now with the button in "rest" position.

And here it is with internals.

We're planning on 3/16" 1095 steel (like 4,7 mm) and with that grind it should be a real cutter. Everything else is over-sized for strength.
