Latest addition - 11" flatguard!

Post by ljerr2 »

Here's my latest addition to my collection from my Walt's flatguard quest!!
It's actually a Frank B item, but it is very, very cool and I would take 6 more like it if I could find them! :D

That's a beauty you have there! So is it stamped Frank B?

Yep -FRANK B stamped. It might be kind of rare I understand. However, I did find this knife's brother, or step-brother, as it is quite similar to this one..........but I haven'be been able to convince the gentleman to sell it to me yet!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed! A matching (almost) pair would be nice! :)

Found this site with several pics of Walt's flatguards (none for sale):

I need to find one of these.

Yeah, that is an old webpage from 2007, I think. These are beautiful and I wish I had been in the market back then as I would now have a case full of them in my collection! Luckily, I have accumulated a few, but I am still on the lookout, too!!!!

I was just looking around Walt's site and saw this fancy flatguard:

What do you guys think of this design? Over the top but a beautiful piece of work for sure!

How many of these "Elite" models were made? I'm seeing 4 (all different designs) on Walt's site:

I hadn't seen the flatguard version, but I had seen the swivel bolster with the wild orange inserts! I think it sold recently.
I can appreciate the artistic aspect as well as the craftsmanship, but personally I'm not a big fan of ornate filework on a stiletto.
Otherwise, this flatguard is absolutely stunning!

I agree, these rare gems would make a wonderful addition to my collection. The quality of Walt’s knives are off the charts. I feel grateful enough to own an 11inch Frank b picklock. It’s the most beautiful knife I own. He went all out on it.
