Dropped in an old Mom & Pop hardware store and they had a display way back in a corner with some used junk and found this little gem,It's a minty Boker in the box with silk bag,sheath and paperwork for 20 bucks. Made in Germany
The front (looks like walnut) scale is engraved NOMAC Drilling One Year No Accidents

Thanks guys. When I saw it in the display I didn't know it had the cool box and stuff. The knife has never been in the sheath.

That's an odd thing to see engraved on a knife. Is this like NOMAC's tribute knife to celebrate a safe year?

No it is just a manual lock back very much like a Buck 110.

Seriously considering having the scales replaced with light horn or cream colored smooth bone. Any suggestions?

I'd leave as is.
This is a collector's piece and sounds a little bit above the norm.
I think the wood suits the knife and the whole package is untouched,and the scales being marked make it different.
You can probably find a bone or horn scaled boker but i doubt you will see many like this knocking about..
Just my thoughts mate.
