Jndiana Custom Italian Stiletto in Stunning Black MOP

Post by john »

Hello Everyone,

I finished this knife many months ago. I finally got around to photographing it.

Jndiana Custom Italian Stiletto Re-Scaled in Stunning Black Lip Mother of Pearl

Customized 9" Jndiana Stiletto Bolster Open/Close Italian Stiletto with Stunning Black Lip Mother of Pearl
Vulcanized Spacers Black / Yellow / Black
The Blade is Swedged Blade by Hand.
Originally scaled in Tulip Wood.
OAL 9"
Steel and Brass has been Polished with Diamond Paste
Brass Pins and Steel Pivot Pin
4" AISI 420 Mirror Polished Stainless Steel Blade
5" Handle with Beautiful Highly Polished Stunning Black Lip Mother of Pearl
Tang Stamp Front Side: STAINLESS in capital letters running diagonally,
Back Side: UD96A000103 over PATENT in capital letters running diagonally
Factory Sharpened Blade
Blade Sits Below the Liner and is Slightly Off Center in the Channel
Locks-Up Tight the Blade does not move when the knife is shaken.
For collectors not familiar with this style knife in order to deploy the blade the top bolster swivels in the same manner used to close many stilettos.
This knife is about 10 years old and no longer in production.

Please feel free to post photos of your Custom Jndiana or factory made Jndiana on this thread.

Hello John. My name is Dave. This is a very nice piece! I recently acquired three of these from your collection, the one black lip pearl shown here, plus MOP and French Tip from a fellow collector, who had a total of 6. Just curious if you are still customizing these, and approximately what the value is for each of these. Thanks for your help! Regards, Dave. :)

Nice knife. I love pearl.
Tip- when you take a modern Italian knife apart to customize it, always solder the bolsters in place (except the swivel bolster.)

Outstanding John. What an awesome combination of brass and the dark MOP.

Lovely knife John

That blacklip pearl is something else.
It really goes well with the brass ,the different layers in the side view shots looks beautiful.
Did any of the older knives from Italy ever use this material,I've never seen one with black pearl ,or is this something used on newer knives by knife craftsmenlike yourself?
Thanks for showing your work John

Hope your well

Beautiful work! Do the rear bolsters have some sort of liner underneath it?

I really wish I would have gotten one of these bolster release stilettos when they were available.
