My third Stray Dog Frosolone

Post by JimBrown257 »

I just got my third customized Frosolone (done by Stray Dog). This one has Brazilian horn. It was also turned into a picklock with solid brass bolsters.

You can see my first two here. These ones don't have the custom bolsters.

The "Frosolone" is one of my favorite style knife. I like the bail, the horn is lovely and the the small guards look great. I noticed this one is a flat button with no safety. Did you request it to be made like that :?: Is it a nine inch :?: What was the original knife :?:

Peter it's too bad you don't have a Stray Dog custom. You have to hold one of Ron's knives in your hand to fully appreciate his outstanding craftsmanship.
Not only do they look great but the detail is superb, everything is tight, the pins are perfectly domed, horn shines like a mirror and zero play in the blade.
I haven't been able to buy a new knife lately but I will have Ron make another knife for me for darn sure. Maybe one like Jim's got here, that is sweet.

Outstanding!! Those bolsters are great. Congrats, Jim Brown. That's a real beauty. Great work as always, RonDog.

Very nice selection, Jeremy, and lovely work, as always, Ron. Did you have this built to specification, Jeremy - or pick it off Jonathan's site? Do you have more dogs besides the three "frosies"?

Dave,

I had this one made by Ron. My first two (did you see those?) both used the existing top bolsters. This was the first one for which I had custom bolsters made.

Actually, these were the first S-guards Ron made on one of his customs. For some reason, he didn't think they were going to turn out right but I convinced him to go for it. They turned out great.

I did, Ron does great work. You've seen mine too, right? (Not Frosolones).
