Wasp waisted 13 with 5/16 inch steel

Post by Picklokpat »

Here's one a bit more recent. From July '12
This knife is built on 1/16" brass liners The blade and backspring are 5/16" thich D-2 steel. It is quite the hand full and fires like nothing I have built before or since. It should be considered dangerous and handeled as such!

With something this powerful you must have to "beef-up" the sear to keep the blade held down. What an incredible piece of craftsmanship.

I have often wondered how many Italians have bought your knives 8)

You're sure right Viking. The rocker is 1/8 " O-1. The rocker bracket is .040 steel about 1/2" long. Got the idea of a l-o-n-g bracket from an origonal Frosolone. It keeps the rocker quite stable.
I don't remember selling a knife to an Italian, at least not one that I built.

Old post I know, but had to say how incredible this knife is. Subtle wasp, lowered buttons, swept bayonet - all the master strokes are there, and then those phenomenal scales. This sets the bar for what the Italians should be doing.
