I have an update on this. I just got in one of Stu's bargain knives that is identical to the one I bought for more than 80 bucks. The difference is, the one from Stu only cost $13, plus shipping and it was advertised as a "defect" because the blade would not lock open. Actually, the blade does lock, it just bounces back. I am familiar with this because the one I had in the early 1980s also did this. I learned to move my thumb backwards instead of pushing the button straight down. When you do that, the blade will lock open.
