Scrimshander Bob Hergert's incredible work

Post by malan »

I just had to share the talents of the scrimshander I having do my scrim. Proud to say he's doing all my scrim work and I have 2 pieces going to him this next week. His work is without a doubt the finest I've seen and is just plain "EYE CANDY"
Check out his rare talent and enjoy! Ive never seen more beautiful work anywhere.

since scrim is of course all a series of "DOTS" and "SMALL PICKS" the time involved in a piece like this Iguana has got to be ridiculous....man if I only had half his gift AND patience

Never seen this post before.

This work is something else .I would love a switchblade with scales containing work as detailed as this.I never knew Scrimshaw work like this even existed .
How is this work created?
Is it done the sameway as in the old whalebone and teeth with their markings.?

Great work scrimshander
Thanks for ressurecting this post and showing and sharing another kind of artwork.
