Barshoo's Custom And Production Mikov Collection

Post by barshoo »

This is my family of Miks. They have been huddled in a drawer that I cannot describe, and when I pulled them out I was shocked to find out just how many there were. I've had a love affair with Mikovs for four years now. Here they are:

Stunning Mikov collection you have got there Barb  :!: A very beautiful bunch :)
I particulary like the # 4 from the right! What kind of wood is that? And please tell who made it for you?
Please be kind to tell us some details about them all :)
Just love them.

NICE Barb... Got Mikov! If you can make that into a t shirt, I'll take a light colored XL :)

What is the scale material 2nd to the left from the purple passion? It looks kind of like burl!

Okay, Lars, I will go from left to right: #1 and #7 are from HDC on a "Two for One Valentine Sale", and I just love these two knives, they are going to stay with me. I love it when the levers snap closed. #2 is a StrayDog creation also from HDC. It is acrylic in "faux abalone". #3 is a very old Mikov, I'm told by the seller, first came to the US in 1993. #4 is a production Cocobolo Mikov. #5 is a custom StrayDog again from HDC. #6 I'm going to be buried with it, holding it in my right hand! It is a Sambar Stag created by Rick, filework by Tank. #8 is a Special Edition Factory Mikov, and there are only two in the world. It is made from Finnish Birch. I got this from David Strnadel. #9 is a production Bone Mikov from David S. #10 is an acrylic creation that you may recognize. It is purple and white and dubbed "Purple Passion", created by Eastcoastsniper. #11 is a Turkish Walnut Dual Bolster Damascus Mikov, my latest purchase, from David Strnadel at www.mikov.com. Actually I buy everything that I do buy from him on the Bladebid auction. It's much simpler and cheaper. He is accepting Paypal again, which is really convenient! Anyway, that's that whole story, and I'm sticking to it.

You'll have to nickname #6 "fat Albert" that is a serious handful of Mikov there.

Barb,

Those are beautiful! Can we see a pic looking down on the Sambar Stag handle (similar to the other pictures)?

Craiggers, that's a good idea. 8) I will take pictures of that fat Mikov tomorrow. It deserves a photo op of it's own  Did I say that I want to be buried with that little cracker curled in my hand? Well, something like that.

Many thanks for all information Barb! Really appreciate it! I should have recogniced the "Finnish Birch" living as close to Finland as I do   It´s often used as handle material on "our" Scandinavian style knives, and shure is very pretty.
Your Mikov collection is stunning! :)
