Brass and Burl.....MIKOV style
Greetings guys and girls,
After a total of 18 hours.... I finally finished this beauty. If you ever wonder why custom knives are so expensive...Try making one of these!!! A $1500 Burns knife would seem cheap
I started by grinding the top bolsters off a mikov kit and hand carving new solid brass bolsters for the top and bottom. The firing lever just had to be replaced with brass also.
I searched for a while to find just the right scale material for this knife. Green and brass go together wonderfully, and I found an awesome set of stabilized tinted burlwood. If you look at the top and bottom scales..they are almost a mirror image.
Everything is held together with 24k gold torx scres and the blade swings on a pivot barrel. I also filed the backspring into my funky "S" (for Sniper) pattern.
Enjoy!
