As Warbird noted, the really big ones don't open too smartly. Here is one of those 6 footers that was for sale a few years back. The problem was that, despite a spring that looked like it came out of a '37 Buick, the knife would not fully open. The physics are such that the energy stored in the spring cannot fully overcome the mass of the blade.

my 39" is slow but opens fully on its owne as dose my 37". 8)

Now that's a Knife!!! :)
