Opinel custom contest open by a french knifemaking magazin

The contest has been launched by La passion du couteau and the Opinel Firm that month.

I tryed to translate the rules but i'm not totaly sure to be as good as need to succeed in that exercice.

The number 91 of « La passion du couteau » announced the rules of Opinel contest.
The contest is open to all the professional or not

There are various categories

Cat sculpture. For those whose sculpt the original handle (all the model are welcome, garden Opinel, the Opinel with the rough handle special sculpt, the Effilé….)

Cat Creation : There is a total freedom (you can create a new handle with various material, you can mod the blade, or made a blade in Damascus. All the way are welcome).

You can enter in the contest in the two categories. The jury will judged on piece. You have to send your work. The knives will be return after the SICAC to the September end.

For those whose don’t want to send the knife or those whose have only the picture of their work. You can send the picture (numerical picture 13x18 cm minimum à 300 dpi)) or paper picture of good quality.

You can send your file to the 31 July 2007 in order to participate.
You have to join your complete address and all the information and technical data (material, technique of work, the concept, the idea that result to the creation.)


The price

For the creation and sculpture categories, the winner will receive an amount of 1000€ from the Opinel firm. And the second will have a price that he will choose in the Opinel brand and an adhesion for 1 year to la passion du couteau.

For the photo categories, the winner will received an amount of 150 € from “la passion du couteau” and the fourth next will have a price that they will choose in the Opinel brand and an adhesion for 1 year to “la passion du couteau”.
