Don't know if anyone visits here anymore, But I gotta try. O.k. here it is does anyone know if filr work is done before hardening? If it's a bad question sorry for wasting time. :?:

Most file work is done on exixsting knives so the metal is aready hardened.

Hi Man,I have done a fair bit of file work on my knives and as far as I know it does not make much difference.If you want good advice goto http://forums.delphiforums.com/knife101 You will probabaly have to sign up to Delphiforums but it's free.Knife101 will teach you all you need to know about restoration and enhancing your knives. :wink: Good luck,The spotlight kid. 8)

Trivia alert.
Some "filing" is done with a Dremel. I have no problem with this, it still takes skill.
