I'll bet Bill could tell you all about that knife  It's a folding bowie or small fixed blade. If I were to dispatch a wild boar with a knife you can bet your ass that baby ain't gonna fold. Larry Harley makes custom boar hunting knives and he'll take you on a boar hunt with only knives.

These knives are dual-purpose knives. Used closed, the knife is a handy camp knife. If you need a longer blade you unfold it. I have quite a few of them. The design is about 150 years old. The ones SKM sells are quite nice.

If I remember right Marble's made a smaller version of this
type ; not an auto, but after that fulcrum switch was pressed
the blade could be flicked out.

How 'bout a Crocodile Dundee scenario?

Punk snap's out a switchblade : "..and your wallet!"

"You call that a knife!?! This here's a knife!"

I say it'd be worthy of a collection ; but I'd second guess
carrying it for other than hunting.

The Marbles did not have a switch, but did have a folding blade guard that was folded back in the handle to lock the blade open.

Those are nice but your right, dam expensive. Anybody know if they're very usable in the closed position?

I LOVE these but so far all I've been able to afford are Spanish "econo" models. :(
