Greetings guys: I saw this very item last night and immediatly called the president of my knife club who sharpens knives and scissors for a living, and who has an extensive collection of scissors of all types and vintages, and he told me these items were made by the thousands for the tourist trade in Havana, and he rarely pays more than 15-20 dollars for a pair. This fellow who is selling this pair of "prostitute scissors" had an auction not too long ago which brought him almost $300.00 for the very same type of scissors, when I told my friend of this he said he was going to e-mail the seller and ask him a few questions just to see if the man's integrity is in the right place. My friend has 4 of these scissors in his shop in a showcase and he says he has no more than $60.00 dollars invested.
I guess it really is caveat emptor out there in cyber space.
Best Wishes
