Anyone tried a SOG TwitchII?
I like the Kershaw Blackout and thought i might try a SOG assisted opener.

No experience w/ it personally.
At one time, I was really into SOG knives, but that was 10 years ago.
Its a good looking knife and I do like the no worries legality of it (here in TX anyways)
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Benny,are SOG's quality knives.
The few i've seen seemed to be well pot together but i've never owned/used one.
I was thinking of getting a SOG Bowie and then i started looking through the catalogue........"oh they make folders as well"............you know the story.

Rapid
SOG has been around for awhile. In the old days they made quality heavy knives. They had a folder called the Tomcat and when you put it in your pocket you walked lopsided it was so heavy. The old Brochures would show a large FB in a vise and a .45 bullet hitting the knife edge dead center and splitting in half. Now there knives all seem to look alike and they use lighter materials and I believe AUS-6. I taked to Ron once at a show on why every SOG FB had serrations and he wasn't quite sure.but I think last year they came out with 2 models without serrations. That is about my experience with SOG since they never really floated my boat.

My experience is limited to their "SwitchPliers" it's a great toy to impress the natives with but, doesn't really fit my needs . It's most interesting feature is a "blade" that fits diagonally in any 1/4" drive socket. This is an extremely clever way of adding socket capabilities in a compact design, and the assorted other ways attempted by other companies usually require seperate adapters that take more room and get lost easily. This really is a great idea that deserves more credit :!: [The drawback? Carrying sockets is NOT conveient  ] The ability to use a wide variety of 1/4" sockets, extensions, universals, etc is a very handy feature. This belongs in the "Why didn't I think of that" catagory.

I carry a SOG Flash 1 every day. It has been converted to automatic. They are fine knives. I am told 8) that the Twitch model can be converted fairly easily.

Sorry, no pics. I don't even own a Twitch. If it were converted, would that make it a "Twitchblade?"

No, both models already have a coil spring. Just some "fine tuning" inside.

i've had a few of the flash models - both without serrations - and they seemed like descent knives - my only gripe would be the TiNi coating on the blade was worn right outta the box.

I never had one with the coating. The steel is very good. AUS6, I believe.
