Hi,
I recently purchased this knife at an estate sale. I’m no expert but I imagine it’s a WW2 era knife. I’m not sure that the sheath is original but it does have rivets instead of staples. I’m most likely planning on keeping it. I have seen very few with black handles. There is a guy that claims the knife handle appears to be painted and the knife is now worthless. If that’s the case I will keep it. I paid $50.
I also noticed that a lot of people refer to this knife as a Ka-Bar even though it’s made by Camillus?
Does it look painted over ?
Were their knives made with black handles like these made by Camillus?
Does this knife look altered? Painted? WW2 USMC
