I have been wanting a damascus steel knife for a while now. I figured this would be a good place to ask for quality knife maker websites that specialize in that, to get some ideas and and maybe place an order
Not 100% set on the type of knife but I think I would like a bushcraft type knife. Don't think I want a folding knife.
Also, what are some things to know and look for when getting a damascus steel knife?
Where to find a nice damascus steel knife?

Re: Where to find a nice damascus steel knife?
I would look for something from a reputable seller/bladesmith who's pieces you've seen reviewed and scrutinized before. Any reputable bladesmith will disclose the type of materials used (high-carbon steel is best).
The number of folds is also key; the wider the dark lines are, the less times it has been folded. The more folds the better! Also a noticeable pattern in the etching is nice to have, this shows a consistency in the size of the bars that went into the original billet, as well as a consistency in how it was folded and re-welded over and over. It also looks pretty cool.
But lack of a discernible pattern isn't necessary for good Damascus. I think raw material used and the number of folds is far more important.

There are tons of things on Ebay and Facebook. Post a picture of a bushcraft and I will find you a supplier.
