Lepre Shellpuller
Was browsing through some auction sites in the UK and found this Italian bad boy of a shellpuller so thought I would share it here.
It's a beautiful knife from the 1950s ,lovely build quality and great stag, multi bladed with the lepre Maniago stamp,I have never seen one like this before, but I have been out of the loop ,so sorry if they are common place ,or have been covered .
Anyone here have one of these ?Never really looked into Italian Shellpuller knives .
Hope everyone is well.

Hi Ian,
Wow! That is a beautiful knife. It would be awesome to have it as part of my collection.
Thanks for sharing.

Great knife!!! I love Italian shell pullers!
Re: Lepre Shellpuller
Very nice Tom thanks for the pic
You always have a fair few of each knife and in lovely condition ,you should open a shop over there mate.
I think I have seen your types before ,and some examples with a shellpuller at the base ,but this looks old german in style ,and is pretty large with a near 5 inch blade .
John
Its for sale here in England ,but they want 35 % on top of your winning bid ,plus extortionate posting fees ,and tax, less I would have had a punt at it .
Wish you could add it to your stunning collection but it would be very expensive with the added british costs ,its on 200 pounds at the minute ,and has days left .
Hope your both well .

Re: Lepre Shellpuller
Lepre was/is the best maker in Maniago.
That knife is a treasure.
I recently worked on my first Lepre stiletto. I knew they made stilettos, but I have never seen one-except the big display stilettos.

Bill
That is a real pretty stilletto .
It oozes quality and the horn colour is staggering ,Its obviously had your touch to bring it up to this standard ,but it just has that overall great shape and look .
The shellpuller is a peach ,
I was looking at Samurai swords and it just popped up ,and my eyes popped open .You can just see its quality. Its on par with the old 50s German multiblade shellpullers imho.
I wish I had the funds to pursue it as in the past when a knife peaked my attention like this ,I would just have to have it ,but laws here have zapped my buying confidence.
Thanks for the lepre stilletto pics ,I havn't seen many lepre oldies but would sure like to having seen this example you posted . I will look into them more now .
Hope you and Ms Debbie are well .

Re: Lepre Shellpuller
Even the "Lepre Maniago" stamp on the shell puller is classy!
Lepre is still making knives today, and I'm proud that Guisseppe Venier (RIP), founder of Lepre thought enough of my work to make me probably the only Lepre repairman in the world.

True Bill ,it truly is a fancy stamp
Wasn't the large stilletto you were pictured with when you were younger made by lepre ?
Always loved that pic and knife .

Re: Lepre Shellpuller
Yes, the picture of me with the big stiletto. It was made by Lepre.
I had a picture of me holding the exact same big knife about 10 years ago. Don't know where it is now, though.
