okay now i'm really tired of using crappy kitchen knives.
who makes a decent set of kitchen knives at a decent price
this is going to be stupid, but the sunday chef tony knives adds are looking better all the time :shock:
how about the 100-200 range??
which is stupid because i spend that much for a antique sb that i only look at :lol:

A good set of Henckles will set ya back 350 to 400 bucks.

Or you could get a set of Kershaws for a buck fifty.

I got some very nice, sharp, durable knives from The Knifesop. They are made by Stubai in Austria. I've had them for about a year and they are great. They take and hold a very sharp edge, and you can clean them in the dishwasher if you don't have time/energy to wash them by hand. I got 5 diferent sizes/shapes and they are all super. they are not very expensive considering the quality. Take a look on The Knifeshop website.

My wife is the cook in the family and loves these products including knives. Check them out. Even bought a straight razor off them last year.

Check your local flea market, the old, dark, stained ones are usually carbon steel, and given a cleaning and sharpening can be very impressive.

These are your choices;
Our hosts - probably excellent but you can't try them ahead of time.
Cutlery store - Good but expensive
Flea market - Used they can be bargains, especially old carbon steel ones [they will need cleaning], new you may get anything from trash to treasure.
