Perca Yellow Perch
Hi creekcrawler,
Although they look pretty similar to our yellow perch, the European perch is actually an entirely different species. Our yellow perch Perca flavescens commonly get up to 12 inches and 1/4-1 pound with the world record being 4 pounds 3 ounces, while the European perch Perca fluviatilis typically get up to 17 inches and 2-4 pounds with the world record being 6 pounds 6 ounces.
That would make a big sandwich

Mr. bennieJut,
You are replying to a 9 year old post. Maybe you didn't notice the original date, but this is not the first time you have replied to an ancient post. Is there nothing more current that interests you?
I would have put this into a PM, but you don't reply to those.
