Unknown Survival Knife: Any Ideas?

Post by BruceS »

Anyone have an information on this knife. It is well made. Molded Polymer handle. Has File and Saw attachments that fit into the Pommel and are secured by the brass pin on the safety cord. Blade is marked "0005". Blade is 5.5". Sheath uses the 'Lift the Dot" fasteners like they use on canvas and old Jeep enclosures.

Thanks so much.

I love these knives.
That is a Mikov or Czechslovakian survival knife ,police knife or paratroopers knife.
I would love one for bushcraft as it looks a real sturdy blade and has the saw that fits into the handle .
Love the sheath aswell an ultra cool knife ,thanks for sharing it here.

Thanks for the heads up my freind ...I will look into the SOG seal pup .

Tbh my health issues are keeping me from bushcraft at present ,but i need to push as I will put some weight on this Christmas no doubt.
I love the woods as it just takes me away from the problems of life ...no road rage ,no T.V or radio just a knife a fire and a good whittle and shelter build
I would love a look at some of the places you have in the US and Canada to go walking and crafting, I would have been out for months and lost my wife by now if I lived over there :)

Hope all's well for you TRYKER,thanks again and take care
Regards

TRYKER

There are none left anywhere.
:(
I have been looking today and cant find any in the U.K and the link you gave is sold out as are knifeshops stock.

Its a pity as i would have loved one.Its a handy looking knife and i swear by saws in bushcraft for bones and harder woods.

if you see anymore give me a shout if you don't mind its a tidy looking purposeful knife.

All the best

Sorry to resurrect this older thread but thought I would post this in memory of my mate David "TRYKER ",who like many others that I miss here is now no longer with us .

Dave had mentioned the SOG seal pup as posted above, and I couldnt source one here or the places he suggested .
Later he kindly sent me this example off his own back at risk and asking for no payment ,it was really good of him .I sent him a leverlock in return as a thankyou which he was made up with .

I have a few knives from friends here and they all mean something a lot more than knives I have bought in the past .

Here's the SOG sealpup he sent me ,great little outdoor knife .
