Intro, better late than never, how did I miss all this?

Post by novice »

Just wanted to say hello. I am a longtime knife collector but have recently gotten more interested in repairs & modifications. Truly amazed and happily surprised at the great forums that detail this kind of thing. Despite having a good part of the gear I need to do it, I never picked up the gauntlet and tried before. Looking forward to doing just that. I have a few autos picked up over the years but nothing over the top. Here is a pic of some of them -

Thanks all. It was the posts on how to fix & tweak that drew me in.

Thank you!

From the bottom left, the OTF (AKC?) was given to me by a now passed friend in the 80's. He bought it in Turin Italy and it returned to the US in a packed set of socks. The Rizzuto swing-guard replaced one stolen by an ex-friend, I think I got it in the 80's as well but can't recall where. The finger-groove Rizzuto was bought by me in Ensenada in the 70's. The Paragon mini Tanto and Dalton Slim Seal I bought at a Daytona Florida flea market in 2001 or thereabouts. The Dalton Companion was a birthday gift from my son a couple years ago, it is my favorite. Finally, the Benchmade Spike was the first "high-end" switchblade I bought. I got it right after they came out in the 90's for a frightful amount of $$$ to me at the time. When I add it up, I guess I've been at this in a small way for 4 decades. Talk about feeling old!
