Why Didn't I Do This Sooner?
Hello to Everyone at TalkBlade,
I'd like to introduce myself to everyone at TalkBlade this is something I should have done a long time ago, I'm John6553;. As the saying goes "Better late than never." I joined end of last year 12/09. I joined, like everyone else, because I really like knives. I always have ever since as long as I can remember. I bought my first knife when I was 5 or 6 years old. If my memory serves me right, there was an offer in my Bazooka Bubble Gum comic for a small Bowie style knife with a compass on the handle and it came with a leather sheath; it cost me ten cents and a three cent stamp. I still have that knife; it's somewhare in a box in the basement. I recently started collecting automatics: stiletto's, leverlocks, OTF, swing guard and a spring assisted knife. I'm here to learn more about knives and to offer whatever I can. From what I have read I can see that the members here are very friendly, well informed, knowledgeable, and experienced collectors. Since, I'm new at this I will probably have questions and I'm sure everyone here will be very willing to share their knowledge; I will be counting on your expertise. One of my goals is to learn about knife repair, modifying some of my knives, and to eventually design knives of my own. From time to time I hope to pick up some vintage or new knives to add to my young collection. When I have some spare cash I hope to buy old beat up knives so I can to try to repair them and add them to my collection. I know this all sounds very ambitious; I hope I don't disappoint myself. I've seen some really great looking creations, true pieces of art with beautiful blades and outstanding handles. I hope some day to display my works on this site. I plan on posting photos of my small modest collection soon; I just have to do it. I am very glad to be here at TalkBlade.
Sincerely,
John6553
