Another New Member for this Awesome Forum
Hi Folks!
I have recently rediscovered my passion for automatic knives and was happily amazed at the variety and availability of auto's today!
Where I grew up in the Northwest, switch blade knives were about as common as hen's teeth and now I feel like I've died and gone to knife heaven!
I discovered this forum last week and have been spending a ton of time just reading the posts from some very knowledgeable and friendly folks.
I purchased my first switch in Germany in 1980 when I was stationed there in the military. It is an 8" C JUL Herbertz with a flat grind and stag handles, I still love it and it fires as strongly as it ever did.
My recent acqusitions include a Boker Magnum, Boker Kalashnikov, a Benchmade Mel Pardue Pre-Production (356 of 500 and a gift from my brother), and an AKC 13" Stiletto with a dagger blade and cocobolo scales.
My most recent purchase (it arrived yesterday) is an 11" Stiletto with a Kris (or should I say "flamboyant") blade and dark Horn scales by AB Coltellerie.
I told my wife last night (as I was playing with my new switch) that I would probably be satisfied with 20 to 25 new knives, she just rolled her eyes, but she didn't say NO...
I'm thinking next will be a Mikov, maybe even a kit with rear bolsters, although I don't know about any extra blades...
Tanto, I will be in touch...
Anyway, I'm not sure how much I can personally add to this forum (its pretty cool already), but you may hear from me from time to time if I feel like I have some valuable input.

Welcome. Always remember that pictures are encouraged. It's nice to see the collections (of things I will never be able to afford.)

Welcome aboard, Mr. SB.
She is one perceptive lady. She knows that even if you exceeded those numbers by a factor of 10, satisfaction would still be illusive. Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I'm working on the photo angle now.
I'm having a blast arranging each knife perfectly for its individual or group photo op.
Having trouble getting the light just right though...

Greetings and WELCOMENESS, Mr. Spring Blade!
I would venture to say that many of us can identify with that experience...Spring Blade wrote: Where I grew up in the Northwest, switch blade knives were about as common as hen's teeth and now I feel like I've died and gone to knife heaven!

Howdy spring blade!
Re: Another New Member for this Awesome Forum
Welcome to the group Spring Blade.
Your first choices in knives are good ones. I wish I would have started mine with some nice ones like those you have described, but I have just recently weeded my collection to the switchblades I truly like. I think we all learn alot quikly here.
Good to have you here,
Jeff

Thanks FURCS and eveyone who has recently welcomed me!
I have been truly amazed at the willingness of our fellow members to spend their valuable time to answer questions, give advice or otherwise share their hard won knowledge.
I have been reading older posts and have subscribed to several threads.
I am learning a lot, acquiring some new knives, and having a ton of fun!
I'll be around...
