Oops, My Bad...
I made my first post over in the switchblade forum where I resurrected the "Known by us in the loop as good ones" thread and did a mini self intro there. THEN I read the forum rules and saw that this is the area to introduce myself, so, here goes:
I've carried a pocket knife since my cub and boy scout days in the '50s. Learned from my dad how to keep 'em sharp with a carborundum pocket stone. Generally I've had either a Schrade Old Timer type knife or a Swiss Army knife. In 1966 my army sergeant major gave me his bright orange handled Schrade parachutist's switchblade when I told him I'd joined the Ft Ord Sport Parachute Club. In the early '70s I got a bone handled stiletto switchblade and a cheap no-name OTF auto. I don't even remember where--probably Tijuana or Juarez. They've all been packed away for the past 30 years or so until just a about a week ago.
A few weeks ago a discussion about knife sharpening arose on a coffee roasting list (http://sweetmarias.com/ for those who might be curious) and that lead me to purchasing a couple of the sharpening systems that were talked about, the Spyderco Sharpmaker and the Edge Pro. In my googling around looking at sharpening tools I found the various knife forums, found out to my surprise that finely made switchblades were available and that gave me a whole new obsession to spend my time and money on. Just what I needed--NOT!
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I'm learning quite a bit. Thanks to all who share their knowledge.

It sure as hell is, Ed. Don't forget to peruse the Imitation Horn thread; the philosophical essence of the membership, condensed to a mere 200 or so pages. New members are required by law to study it, and be able to recite it after a trial period of, say, 3 days. (Just kidding)WyoBlade wrote:Thanks for the welcome, guys.
