Taiwan milano

Post by typeonegative13 »

New here, i have a question perhaps bill deshivs could best answer. I have this stiletto I know it's the taiwan type but I'm wondering if someone can tell me what year it's from or any history about it. I know alot of the hardcore knife guys probably don't care for these but I actually like the Taiwan stilettos as much if not more than the Italian ones. The Chinese ones are trash tho imo. I'll try to post the picture

I can't really say too much about Taiwan Stilettos.
I can speculate, but because of my memory at my age.
I'm starting to confuse multiple occasions into single events.
(Like Buddy Holly dying and Jimi Hendrix dying
seem like the same winter to me. . . so long ago.)

In the 1980's the Edge Company first sold nice Italian made kits.
and I used to buy them in bulk rate, and mangle them to make
knifes to trade for old broken American autos.

by 1990, Edge kits had Italy blades, but the brass liners were thinner.
and a few of the brass liners were stamped "Tiawan.
But assembled. . .it was hard to tell.

Then I started noticing Taiwan knives on eBay around 2000.
They were drilled thru the blade sear holes, and nail nicks at a specific spot.
They no longer had italian blades. . . .the blade grinds seems less standard.

I'm not sure when they became China Clones. But you can see the plastic scales are different.

if you email any image to katrencik7@verizon.net
I can resize it and post it.

I wake up and turn on my LapTop only about every 3 days now.
I check in less frequently . . .
