Those slant bolsters were Mike Hansen's I believe but he parted with them about 10yrs or so ago

Here are some earless bolster humpbacks in comparison to the one you were asking about (in the photos as well). The Humpbacks have brass liners and the FBR has steel liners. On the back side of the FBR, it doesn't look like the ears were ground off, or they removed them first and did a very nice job being you can see the distinct gap between the bolsters and liners but on the front side, there is some wear/possible blending and looks like they didn't remove the bolsters, but that doesn't make any sense; why would you take them off for one side and leave them on for the other, etc. The FBR is BO/BC also

whip ~ No, you were quite right to give me a whack across the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. I am the first to acknowledge that I lack the experience of many members here. I should observe more and talk less. I will try to do so in the future.

I was picturing in my mind ones like these. Especially the one on the right. I like that one!

Now that I see the side shot of that knife, I can tell it was definitely a regular derby bo/c that had the guards cut off.

I am sold now that it's not original... still a cool one either way, but wish they really would've made them like that! haha
