On the hunt for an AGA Campolin 13" Batwing swinguard, ebony scales.

Post by Capt. Willard » Thu Aug 15, 2019 12:37 pm

Hi
New member here.
I am on the hunt for an AGA Campolin 13" Batwing swinguard.
Much prefer ebony wood scales but will consider all.
Prefer dagger or kris blade but bayonet blade profile ok too.
Shield button much prefered but all variants considered.
Will consider all other ebony scaled 13" swing guard variants as well.
Thank You!

FWIW, 3Knives recently listed a few NOS Batwings with shield buttons in stag and abalone: https://www.3knives.com/en/category/267 ... rd_le.html

If all else fails, buy it in any scales and send to Rick Greene for a rescale. I have his contact info. He used to do work for Rick Giroux. He does gorgeous amboyna burl scales. Ebony should not be a problem.

Good idea Dave ...I have considered doing just that if necc. but hate to affect the originality of the piece.

I have had the same thing happen to me several times. I found if you are really interested in something you have to be diligent in looking, and buy immediately. You let 24 hrs elapse. Sometimes it can be minutes.
Keep looking and good luck.
