FS: BURN Italian DA OTF

Post by mick17 »

I have this knife for sale and thought I'd see if there's any interest here before I put it up for auction.

11" BURN (Paul Panak) Italian DA OTF with mammoth ivory scales. This knife is the prototype that was built for the brass chassis. Everything on this piece functions as beautifully as it looks. The button opens and closes the blade with authority. Built like a tank.

Comes with certificate of authenticity that reads:

Custom Italian DA OTF. Brass chassis and bolsters. First brass chassis Italian built- prototype. Hollow-ground dagger blade from 154cm steel. Mammoth ivory scales, estimated 15,000 years old. Born on 6-27-17. -Paul Panak

1200 OBO. I'm in no hurry to sell this, but I'm willing to let it go for a reasonable price considering. DM me those reasonable offers or questions thanks!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

This one is my favorite of the Italian OTF series Paul has done. I just love the look of the mammoth ivory with the brass. I don’t think those scales would look nearly as nice with steel.

Here are more pics/info on this piece:

That's a gorgeous knife.

One nice thing about the brass chassis compared to the SS versions - mine came from the dealer with a few faint hairline scratches on the front bolster, but after a few weeks of handling patina there's absolutely no sign of them. It's like the brass healed itself. It also has unique acoustics. They sound like racking the slide on a nice .45 ACP when they fire and retract. Very addictive!

Thanks guys, and you’re so right Corvus about the sound it makes when firing/retracting. Very cool, and does remind me of a 1911 now that you mention it. Interesting about the healing properties of brass as well!
