Soviet/Russian Switchblade Automatic Knives
In this topic I want to discuss knives made in USSR or ex_Soviet countries like Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia etc.
Those handmade knives are usually very quality. Mainly made in prisons. Or by people who have such expirience.
A lot of people have asked me before how was it is possible to make it while you in jail?
Well many Soviet prisons had a mini plants on their facilities where people were making things like kitchenware.
So they had a equipment and materials to make a automatic knives which is very popular in certain circles.
I sell such knives.
Everyone is welcome to post a knives of such category.

Re: Soviet/Russian Switchblade Automatic Knives
Lovely knives.
The bottom one is my personal favourite, it's like an italian vendetta knife.
I'd love to have an example in my collection,as each knife would be unique.Imagine the time and effort gathering parts and making springs etc, then shaping the blades, ... A lot of time and effort to each knife.
I'd love to buy one!
Great collection, thanks for sharing

Man, those are some cool looking knives! That swing guard with the asymmetrical guard and sort of tanto style blade looks downright scary.
Re: Soviet/Russian Switchblade Automatic Knives
Hello Michaelz,
Those knives look amazing. The only one that looks like it was made in prison is the swing guard knife with the reverse tanto blade.
What did those knives sell for? I hope the price is right. I'd like to add one to my collection.
I can't wait to see what your friends come up with.
John

Thank you for your speedy reply. Pricing is good. Hopefully I will see something I like from the next group of knives, if not this time next time.

Would you ship to the UK, Michaelz.
If you did begin selling these in the near future.
I'd be interested if this was possible.
I'd like one.
Thanks Ian

Seems like from 90's. Definitely not 60-70's.gravknife wrote:When approximately does this date from Michaelz,?

Can't say much of background in this case.
But the shape is great.
Re: Soviet/Russian Switchblade Automatic Knives
Here is another one!
Very old prison knife (60's) metal is polished so now it looks like brand new.
20.5 cm total, 9 cm blade.
Original spring is still on. After some care works pretty well.
