Thanks to all for the kind words and condolences. With such a nice group of people here, it is obvious why Dave spent so much time here before he became ill.
I will pass your messages along to his daughter. Thanks again.

My condolences to his family as well. It's always sad to hear of the passing of another member.

And I hope you get some good offers for his collection for his family. I would sure hate to think of those nice knives being given to the authorities. I don't think the fellow who asked about the price meant to offend. This is a "buy and sell" thread, and the new guy was trying to "buy".

He's such a nice guy that he didn't even repost with an apology or condolence.

Thanks again to all for the kind words and thoughts. You are a great group of people.

Thanks also to those of you who have expressed interest in the collection. Many people have asked to buy particular pieces from the collection, and there have been only a couple offers on the whole lot. After consulting Dave's daughter, we have decided to split the lot up. If you are interested in just one or more of the knives, please let me know with your best offer. I will leave the sale going until the end of next week, as I, like many of you I'm sure, will be quite busy over the next few days.

If you have written to me and are awaiting a reply, I apologize but I wanted to talk to Dave's daughter before splitting the collection up. I hope you understand.

All the best of the season to you and yours.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Please express condolences to Daves family, very good of you to try to sell his collection for them. Would be a shame to have them turned over to the authorities rather than passed on to people to care for and enjoy them.

deepest sympathy,as i know how it is.
i lost my dad,and both my grandmas in the same year.
i am 48 years okld now and still think of what it would be
like to have that time again.
i think about my pop daily as we were best friends in work
and play.
i just wish i had been collecting knives while he was alive.
he got me started collecting, but isn't around to share it with.

i am really sorry for your loss.
a friend is something cherished,
