Day 3 in Georgia

Post by Vagrant »

Fished a small section of the Tallulah river.
A lady stop and asked me if I, caught anything ??
I told her only a sunfish :(
She was stunned, she said "I live on this river and have NEVER caght anything" :!:
I didn't feel so bad, after that

A couple other people said there's nothing in here.

What he/she lacks in size, sure makes up for it with beauty. Those are gorgeous little fish.
I'd like to have an aquarium with a few of those in there.

They can be a tasty but bony fish if you don't know how to clean them. there was an old fella that used to fish a pond that us kids used to fish in Mass. when I lived there. He would clean em for us if he got to keep a few, he used an old Colonial fish knife. I never learned to clean em as well as he did. My father used to wash the fillets in condensed milk and roll them in yellow corn meal seasoned with salt and pepper and fry em up in butter in a black iron skillet. YUM! This also worked with horned pout (Catfish to you southern boys). Jim

I HATE fish so anything I catch, goes right back
Georgia Trout season STARTS the 28th - I head home the 26th
So, IF, I catch any Trout, I'll throw them back, faster than usual
It was fun catching a sunfish in a river where 3 or 4 for people told me, there were NO fish

Based on the time we're due home [for a family event] and the time we'd pass through the hood it is VERY doubtful :( :(
Would be nice to meet again, thank for the offer, maybe next time

Amusingly, I'm heading to Georgia (Athens area) this weekend too. Heading out later today.

Goin' to see family and shoot a bit.

Seems like everyone's going to Georgia.

Heck; I've been here over half my life and you've done more leisure activities than I have. I just work too much. Glad you enjoyed you time. You certainly picked some nice areas to visit.
