Lansky Sharpener kevlar knife info

Post by dogngun »

I have a knife made of kevlar or some similar composite, made by Lansky Sharpener. It is black, double edged and shaped like a bootknife with a lanyard hole in the handle end.
It is ahaped on one side and flat on the other, with a very sharp cutting edge. I seem to remember that they were sold as "CIA Letter Opener". I have it for around ten years, and am looking for another one-can't seem to find one.
Any information on them, or if anyone is selling them? Lansky's site has nothing similar on it.

Thanks.

Thank you for the information. Found a Lansky's "Knife" on ebay, just bought it for $6.50 shipping included. Comes with factory box.

The Cold Steel stuff looks interesting, too.

Anybody ever fly with one of these?

I'd say that trying to board a plane with one would be a super bad idea. :o
Much better to take a heavy walkin stick...if they ask (which I'd doubt) just tell em ya got a trick knee.

My Ebay lansky knife came yesterday, brand new in the factory container. Paid $1.95 for it, nearly 3x that to ship. Under $7 total.
A neat idea, and my old one is still in like new condition.
But it keeps punching holes in my pocket....

Gee, you think it could be because it's sharp & pointy?
