My sword

Post by sgl22150 »

I have an old sword I would like some info for. The blade is marked A.(?)WALSCHEND, SOLINGEN. Other side has a small raised brass button approx. 3/8 diameter marked PROVED in a circle with a three pointed star in the center. The style is similar the some Napolean or US civil war swords I saw in the Arms Museum in Louiseville Ky. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Steve
