Medici-style question

Post by crunch »

Help! I need some expert opinions on medici-style swing-guard knives. Should there be any daylight between the lockback lever and the rear bolster? (see: http://bladeauction.com/cgi-bin/osa/Vie ... ber=618751 for example, you can see red between the lever and bolster) I have another lock-back knife and the lever is seated INTO the bolster. Thanks!

Seems to me it's that swing guard bolster is just eye candy and the back lock is the lock.

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is Yes, this is common on the medici style knives.

On an unrelated but very high quality lock blade knife, the case cheeta 6111 1/2L model, the lock also has the same space. It does not detract from the knife in either case.

The Hubertus Guardian has a similar style and is a very high quality switchblade. However, it is more expensive.
