Re: Imitation Horn
To get back on topic, does imitation horn warp or not? I don't think a definitive answer has ever been posted.

It can develope an imitation warp
Re: Imitation Horn
Extremely glad you are back from the dead and magnificent to see you post again. No, the mystery has not been solved but perhaps with your wit and wisdom we can finally put the issue to rest.

Re: Imitation Horn
Riddle me this: Is an imitation warp the same as an imaginary warp? How about a transcendental warp? If the warp is an imitation, what is it imitating? How does it manifest itself? Is an imitation warp of a substance that is itself an imitation actually not a warp at all but really a straight and true representation of the material being imitated?
Thus we encounter the age old question most succinctly expressed by the abbreviation: WTFO?
How have you been, Jim?
Interrogatively,

Re: Imitation Horn
Greyblade,
Much the same - still with the consulting firm. We have been empty nesters for a few years but the kids were home for Christmas which was nice. I've been on a demanding project for over 2 years which has stifled my time for fun more than I like. Are you doing well now that you are back from the dead?

Jim,
My saintly wife and I are doing well -no health problems yet even though everyone we know seems to be getting older. Our kids are fine, grandsons too. I'm still working and will continue to do so until I am found slumped over my desk or I hit the lottery, whichever comes first. I'm spending a lot of time in New England with no respite in sight.
So, what new bladed toys have you acquired since last we communicated? I haven't bought a knife in a long time. What I did get was a 1964 Porsche 356C coupe which I have been working on. It runs great but needs some minor cosmetics. 75 screamin' horses!
Do you have any answers to the deeply philosophical questions that I posed in my last posting?
Contemplatively,

Re: Imitation Horn
I think that is the model of Porsche used in the Nick Nolte movie 48 Hours but I think it was a 56 or 57.
Re: Imitation Horn
Then it would have been either a 356A or B. The Cs began later. They were the last of the type before the 911 was introduced in the 1965 model year.
Re: Imitation Horn
Greyblade,
Congrats on the Porsche, a fine toy indeed.
I too have been in New England - Boston / Cambridge to be specific.
No new (or old) bladed toys acquired recently. Years ago I went nuts and bought seemingly all things switchblade, but over time my tastes evolved. For the last several years I have been focusing primarily on vintage German leverlocks. I like mine pristine and these knives were built tough for actual use. Unfortunately, most of them were used, often well used. As a result, pristine examples of models I don't have don't surface very often, but I'm always looking.
No new insight on the warpage front...

Re: Imitation Horn
So the warpage thing still hasn't been determined? I'll have to check back in another few years
