Surprisingly few of us care about what you call "football". We have our own game called football in which you almost NEVER use your feet.
[Personally team sports underwhelm me]. I'm surprised you haven't recieved any other responces perhaps others share my non-enthusiasm
for watching people trying to kill each other over a round object.

Tessa3,

I don't know who will win but I certainly doubt that it will be the USA. Soccer is steadily gaining popularity in the USA, but it comes nowhere close to having the support it does in Merry Olde. One good thing, I just learned that my son's soccer coach for next season is from the UK!

Mr. Tessa,
Please to forgive me.
Since the heading on this Forum says "Switchblade Knives," I just failed to make the "obvious" connection between switchblade knives and soccer...

Mr. Tessa,

I know what carnage can transpire at English soccer matches. If you want to see real carnage, let me treat you to an end zone seat in Oakland's Black Hole this fall. You can wear a Denver Bronco's jersy and I get to sit 10 rows away!

Bonz, Oakland games....well....they still don't compare to soccer riots. Although the intensity of the violence is much greater at an Oakland game it doesn't have the life of a good European riot. Remember after the Dissin fan has been shot in the face by six assailants things tend to quiet down for a little while.

I have nothing against soccer, I just fail to get emotional about team sports. Besides, I'm more likely to find a legitimate use for a Switchblade
when Fishing, Hunting. or just wandering around in the woods.
However in a spirit of national pride U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A.

Mr. Dan-O,

Your probably right about soccer riots, but in Oakland, those cannibals in the Black Hole consume the bones along with the flesh. It's a good thing they were in New England when the ref reversed that call, cause if that happened in Oakland, it would have blown away any european soccer riot.
I go to Raider games to scrounge food from all the tailgaters. Lot's of fun.

I also don't have anything against soccer - I just don't think this is the Forum to discus it...
Am I missing something?
